Installation Guidance for Grey Granite Paving
Correct surface orientation
Always lay granite with the flamed, textured surface facing upwards. The sawn face should be used as the bedding surface. The flamed finish delivers natural grip in wet conditions, while light saw marks on the underside are entirely normal.
Always use a full mortar bed
Grey granite paving must be installed on a continuous, full mortar bed for secure, long-term performance. Avoid dot bedding, dab bedding, spot bedding or ring bedding, as these methods create weak points that may cause movement, cracking or water penetration. A full-bed installation ensures complete support and a strong, stable bond across the entire slab.
